Father's Day Pairing: Sourland Mountain Spirits Apple Brandy paired with Camembert Cheese
Award winning Sourland Mountain Spirits, New Jersey's First Farm Distillery since Prohibition. Located in Hopewell, New Jersey. The Disches Family makes hand crafted small batch Vodka, Gin, Bourbon, Farmers whiskey, Rum, and one of the best Apple Brandies in America.
The Brandy
Made from sweet, fresh apple cider from Terhune’s Orchard, five miles from the distillery. Distilled and aged in American oak Bourbon barrels for at least I year, producing a brandy with a light bronze gold color and a nose that combines notes of light wood spice, a nuance of vanilla and caramel, leading you to a bright clean pallet with light notes of bourbon barrel followed by subtle caramel covered apple. Round and soft finish with lingering apple spice and a touch of oak and apple. This is a great brandy and a great gift for Father’s Day.
The Pairing
Father’s Day only happens once a year and it is the perfect occasion to enjoy a final course of cheeses and nuts with a glass of brandy. (Option: Light a 15 year old Cuban, and settle in)
